Transplant Guide for Kids
Undergoing an organ transplant is stressful and scary for any patient and her family, particularly so for children. Beyond the procedure and post-care, children often have questions about how the procedure will affect their lives. What will happen to my hair? How will I tell my friends? Why can’t we have a pet?
This three-part guide is intended to help children and their families answer these questions while also providing a place to store medical information and records from pre-surgery to post-care. By utilizing this material, we hope that families will be able to organize their thoughts and questions and ensure the entire continuum of care process is as safe and smooth as possible for the whole family.
